SALSA COMPETITIONS
To be held on Saturday, January 28th during the
Chicagoland Salsa Championships at the Willowbrook
Ballroom. 8900 S Archer Ave, Willow Springs
Two Categories of Competition, danced in
a Just Dance (Lead-Follow) style.
Professional/Open: Anyone is welcome to enter this division. Those that have received financial compensation
for teaching or performing in any dance form within the past 5 years MUST enter this division.
Amateur: Has not received financial compensation for teaching
or performing in any dance form within the past 5 years.
If one person in the dance partnership has received financial compensation
for teaching or performing in any dance form within the past 5 years,
they must dance in the Professional/Open Division.
You should enter with a pre-determined partner of your choosing.
You will dance with several couples on the floor at once to a random
song chosen by the DJ. No routines or costumes allowed. No aerials
or lifts. All dancers must keep at least one foot on the floor
at all times.
Instructors and Professionals of May I Have This Dance Inc or the Willowbrook Ballroom are not eligible to enter the competitions.

Professional Division
1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $300
3rd Place: $100
Amateur Division
1st Place:
-> $150 Dance Scholarship
-> Chicago International Salsa Congress Full Passes!
-> 6 months VIP entry to Willowbrook Salsa Wednesdays
-> Other great prizes TBD
2nd Place:
-> $100 Dance Scholarship
-> Chicago International Salsa Congress Evening Passes!
-> 3 months VIP entry to Willowbrook Salsa Wednesdays
-> Other great prizes TBD
3rd Place:
-> $50 Dance Scholarship
-> 4 free passes to Willowbrook Salsa Wednesdays

Be crowned the 2012 Chicago Salsa Champion!
At least 5 couples needed in each division for prize money
to be awarded. Division may also get cancelled or combined if at least 5 couples
are not registered in each division.
All Salsa competitors must complete and submit the registration prior to the event.

Please note the event times are 7:30 to 1am. We plan to run the competitions starting at 8:45pm. Competitors must arrive no later than 8pm in order to check in, get instructions, and pick up your bib numbers.
