COURSE GUIDES

If you are just looking to take a basic class or two and will be happy with just enough basic steps to get you on the floor, then you don’t necessarily need the course guides. Our monthly class schedules designate which classes are good for total beginners. Just look for any class that is marked as best for beginners.

Of course, if you have any questions or would like some guidance, please contact one of our Coordinators who can help find the right class for you! You can e-mail a Coordinator at info@mayihavethidance.com or call 773-635-3000.

New Curriculum Launch in 2012!

We have recently launched a complete curriculum which includes 14 of the most popular social dances. We also have created an extra-curricular guide with over 24 additional partnered social dances and another 13 fitness, freestyle, and fad dances. That's over 51 types of dance that you can learn at May I Have This Dance! Wow, can you imagine?!?!

The Curriculum Guide and the Extra-Curricular Guide will be available for students to access sometime in 2012. We are putting the finishing touches on it now, and determining the best method for their distribution. Keep your eyes peeled. We are very excited to have these new organized guides that list all the great social dance you can learn and master through May I Have This Dance. We think you will be too!

In the meantime, you will notice that we are already running classes from our new curriculum. Many classes will have a level designation. These may help you determine which classes you're ready for. In general, there are 3 levels for each of our Curriculum dances:

A-Level, also know as, "Core"

  • This is where you should start!
  • Should start with a class designated with a "I", then take "II" "III" etc in sequential order.
  • Basic to Intermediate level material

B-Level

  • Intermediate-Advanced
  • Once you've completed all the A-Level (Core) classes for a particular dance, you may take ANY B-Level class.

C-Level

  • Advanced to Master-Level
  • Instructor Approval required
  • Usually for those that have taken many B-Level classes and have significant experience.
  • For those that thrive on the details, technique, and hard work to be the best on the dancefloor!

If a class is listed without any level designation, than it may be from our extra-curricular guide, or a brand new class. It will usually list any pre-requisites or what level you should be to take the class. As always, contact us if you have any questions or want advice!
